This policy explains what data is processed when you use the Ping Test website and its tools, why it is processed, and what rights you have. The site has no user accounts, and you do not need to provide any personal information to use the tools.
Data processed during tests
The ping and packet loss tests run in your browser. Test packets are sent only to the test server you select and echoed back for measurement. They carry no meaningful content and are not stored on the server once the test session ends. As with any connection on the internet, your IP address is technically visible to our servers so that the connection can be established.
- What Is My IP: your IP address, ISP and approximate location are determined through our server and public IP lookup services in order to display them to you.
- STUN / TURN test: the server URLs and credentials you enter are used only by your browser to connect to those servers.
- Headphone and microphone test: recordings stay on your device and are never uploaded.
- Test reports: CSV and JSON files are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we store your name, email address and message so that we can reply. This information is not used for any other purpose and is not shared with third parties.
Preferences stored in your browser
Your theme (light or dark) and selected test server are saved in your browser's localStorage so they are remembered on your next visit. This data is not sent to our servers, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.
The site itself sets only one strictly necessary session cookie, and only on pages that need a security check, such as the contact form. It is deleted when you close your browser. Any other cookies come from the third-party services described below.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (such as pages visited, browser type and general region) to understand and improve the site. To keep the site free, ads are served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can learn how Google uses this data in its advertising policy and turn off personalised ads in your Google ad settings.
Your rights under the GDPR
If the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Changes to this policy
