About LoL Ping Test

What is LoL Ping Test?

LoL Ping Test is a free tool that measures your latency (ping) to various server regions to help you get the best performance in Riot Games' world-famous MOBA game League of Legends. With this test, you can find out which servers you can play on with lower ping and in which region you can get the best performance.

Why is Ping Important in LoL?

In MOBA games like League of Legends, ping is one of the critical factors that directly affects success. Low ping gives you these advantages:

  • Fast Combo Execution: You use your skills faster and more smoothly
  • Better Skillshots: Your abilities activate instantly, target tracking becomes easier
  • Flash Timing: Your escape and attack reflexes are faster in critical moments
  • Teamfight Performance: You become more effective in team fights
  • CS Taking: Last hitting and minion killing becomes easier
  • Kiting and Orb Walking: Movement and attack combinations work smoothly

What Ping Values Are Considered Good?

  • 0-30ms (Excellent): Ideal for Challenger/Master level gaming
  • 30-60ms (Very Good): Suitable for high elo ranked gaming
  • 60-100ms (Good): Sufficient for normal ranked and normal games
  • 100-150ms (Average): Playable but mechanical champions are difficult
  • 150ms+ (Poor): Serious disadvantage, skillshot usage becomes difficult

League of Legends Server Regions

LoL operates servers in many regions to serve millions of players worldwide:

  • TR (Turkey): Turkey server - Istanbul data center
  • EUW (Europe West): Western Europe - Amsterdam
  • EUNE (Europe Nordic & East): Northern and Eastern Europe - Frankfurt
  • RU (Russia): Russia server - Moscow
  • NA (North America): North America - Chicago
  • LAN (Latin America North): North Latin America - Miami
  • LAS (Latin America South): South Latin America - Santiago
  • OCE (Oceania): Australia - Sydney
  • JP (Japan): Japan - Tokyo
  • KR (Korea): South Korea - Seoul
  • PH (Philippines): Philippines - Singapore data center
  • SG (Singapore): Singapore and Malaysia

How Does It Work?

This tool sends real-time ping requests to servers in different geographic regions to measure response times. The test automatically updates every 5 seconds and shows you your instant ping values.

How Can I Lower My Ping?

  • Use the LoL server closest to you (TR server if you're in Turkey)
  • Use ethernet cable instead of WiFi
  • Close background applications (streaming, torrent, download)
  • Configure QoS (Quality of Service) settings on your router
  • Use low spec mode in League of Legends client
  • Don't watch videos or stream music during gameplay
  • Request game optimization from your internet service provider
  • Consider using a gaming router
  • Turn off VPN if you're using one (gaming VPN can help in some cases)

How to View In-Game Ping in LoL?

To see your instant ping value while playing League of Legends:

  • Press Ctrl + F keys while in game
  • FPS and Ping values will appear in the top right corner
  • Normal values: 20-60ms are shown in green
  • High ping: 100ms+ gives a yellow or red warning

About Turkey Server (TR)

For players living in Turkey, the TR (Turkey) server is the best option. The TR server is located in Istanbul and serves players in Turkey, Middle East and Caucasus regions with low ping. Normal ping values from Turkey to TR server are between 10-40ms.

Pro Tip:

For ranked play in League of Legends, your ping should be below 60ms. For mechanically demanding champions (Yasuo, Zed, Lee Sin, Riven, etc.) 30ms and below is recommended. If your ping is high, you can reduce the disadvantage by choosing simple mechanical champions (Garen, Annie, Malphite). Also, lowering graphics quality in game settings can improve overall game fluidity by increasing FPS.

Important Note:

This ping test shows estimated values. Your actual in-game ping values may differ by ±10-20ms. To get the most accurate ping value, you can open practice tool or custom game in-game and check with Ctrl+F.

Server Transfer:

If you're getting high ping on your current server, you can transfer to a different region from the Riot Games account management panel (account.riotgames.com). Transfer is paid (usually 2600 RP) and all your champions, skins and content on your account are moved to the new server. However, your ranked level and LP are reset.
